CONVERSATION WITH ELISABETTA BOZZI AND ROBERTA QUIRICI AT A REST
HOME THE SUMMER OF 1999: Elisabetta Bozzi's father did not want
her to marry Nicola Aspromonte because he came from a poor
family. He said he would cut off her legs (taglia le gambe)
if she did so. She said she didn't care and married him. Nobody
was at the wedding. Nicola's father, Giosia, had a bar on the
main street of Torricella Peligna, Corso Umberto I. He got the
wine (or grapes) form below Gessopalena, a place called
Marcelle.
Nicola Aspromonte sposo piuttosto giovane Elisabetta Bozzi. La
famiglia di Elisa dal punto di vista economico stava abbastanza
bene, i genitori avevano molte terre coltivate e parecchi
animali (vacche,pecore,galline,ecc).
Elisabetta Bozzi, who was born in Gessopalena, met Nicola in
Torricella because she lived in a tall, narrow house near the
church. Her family had bought that house. They also purchased
land and another home on the right side of the road that goes
from Torricella to Colle Zingaro.
