Carmine was born about 1780 in Pratola Peligna, L'Aquila, Italy, the son of Ansilio deStephanis and Maria Petrella.
He had two marriages/partners. His first wife was Maria Buccilli, who he married in ABT 1810. The place has not been found. Their three known children were Ansilio (c1812-1860), LIberato Giuseppe Antonio (1814-1814) and Gaetano (1815-?).
His second wife was Maria Giuseppa d'Angelo, who he married on 26 FEB 1820 in Pratola Peligna, L'Aquila, Italy. Their four known children were Maria (1821-?), Raffaele (1825-1825), Raffaela (1828-1829) and Crescenza (1831-?).
