Domenico was born about 1822 in Bugnara, L'Aquila, Italy, the son of Panfilo Ventresca and Maria Concezia Colangelo.
His wife was Concezia Nolfi. They were married, but the date and place have not been found. Their five known children were Lorenzo (1845-1846), Beniamino (1842-?), Clementina (1848-1848), Clementina (1851-?) and Lorenzo (1856-?).
