Venanzio was born about 1802 in Bugnara, L'Aquila, Italy, the son of Carmine Santarelli and Domenica Arcieri.
His wife was Barbara Palumbaro. They were married, but the date and place have not been found. Their two known children were Cesidio (1833-?) and Carmina (1837-?).
