Gabriele was born about 1833 in Bugnara, L'Aquila, Italy, the son of Panfilo Ventresca and Maria Concetta Colangelo.
His wife was Clementina Francesca LoStracco. They were married, but the date and place have not been found. Their six known children were Domenico (1856-?), Nicola (1858-1858), Maria Rosa (1859-?), Nicola (1862-1863), Dorotea (1864-?) and Antonio (1865-?).
