Nicolantonio was born about 1802 in Bugnara, L'Aquila, Italy, the son of Carmine Scudieri and Benedetta Ciampella.
His wife was Vittorina Papi. They were married, but the date and place have not been found. Their six known children were Maria Teresa (1825-?), Carmelo (1829-1831), Vittorino Antonio (1832-1833), Maria Domenica (1834-?), Carmine (1838-?) and Maria Concezia (1841-?).
