Nicola was born about 1781 in Bugnara, L'Aquila, Italy, the son of unknown parents.
His wife was Rosa Frattaroli. They were married, but the date and place have not been found. Their five known children were Giuseppa Maria Angiola (1809-?), Nicola (1811-1811), Vittorino Antonio (1816-1817), Domenica (1820-?) and Francesco Vittorino (1823-1824).
