Giuseppe was born about 1756 in Lettopalena, Chieti, Italy, the son of Remigio Verna but his mother is unknown.

His wife was Anna D'Urbano, who he married in ABT 1780. The place has not been found. Their five known children were Loreta (c1782-1831), Dionisio (1784-1817), Nicola Vincenzo (1787-?), Eufresina (c1788-1845) and Domenicantonio (1789-1847).
