Domenico was born about 1822 in Lettopalena, Chieti, Italy, the son of Natale Rossi and Nunziata Barone.

He had two marriages/partners. His first wife was Finadora Silverio. They were married, but the date and place have not been found. Their only known child was Filippo (1846-1864).

His second wife was Angela Palma DiGiantonio, who he married in ABT 1855 in Lettopalena, Chieti, Italy. Their two known children were Vincenzo (c1856-1859) and Nicola (1860-1863).
