Giovanna was born about 1782 in Pratola Peligna, L'Aquila, Italy, the daughter of Giuseppe Pizzoferrato but her mother is unknown.

Her husband was Giuseppe d'Orazio, who she married in ABT 1807. The place has not been found. Their six known children were Domenico Antonio (c1809-1852), Giovanni Battista Crispino (1811-1811), Maria Francesca (1811-1811), Gaetano Maria (1812-?), Giovanni Pasquale (1816-?) and Francesco (c1818-1819).
