Maria was born about 1791 in Pratola Peligna, L'Aquila, Italy, the daughter of Amico Petrella but her mother is unknown.
Her husband was Francesco Pizzoferrato. They were married, but the date and place have not been found. Their four known children were Angelo Sante Domenico Antonio (1811-1811), Maria Angela (1812-?), Silvestro (1815-?) and Domenico Antonio Sante (1819-?).
