Giambattista was born about 1751 in Lettopalena, Chieti, Italy, the son of Domenico DiStefano but his mother is unknown.

He died before 1813. The place is not known.

His wife was Lucia Romanelli, who he married in ABT 1772 in Lettopalena, Chieti, Italy. Their four known children were Galizia (c1776-1848), Bricida (c1783-1858), Maria Gelmeda (1784-c1815) and Domenicantonio (c1792-?).
