Nicola was born about 1769 in Pratola Peligna, L'Aquila, Italy, the son of Cristofaro diLoreto and Maria Giuseppa diBenedetto.

His wife was Rosa Liberatore, who he married in ABT 1796. The place has not been found. Their three known children were Domenico (c1798-1862), Loreto Antonio (c1798-?) and Raffaele (c1805-?).
