Giovanni was born in 1751 in Italy, the son of Tommaso DiCecco and unknown Paglieta.

His wife was Douata Urbisci, who he married in ABT 1778. The place has not been found. Their seven known children were Francesco (1779-?), Luciano (1781-?), Mattia (1784-?), Lanerio (1786-?), Elettrina Vita (1791-?), Lucia (1794-?) and Oisua Eiuila (1797-?).
