Maria was born about 1848 in Lettopalena, Chieti, Italy, the daughter of Domenico D'Ippolito but her mother is unknown.

Her husband was Pietro Marco Palmieri, who she married in ABT 1871. The place has not been found. Their six known children were Marziale Aniceo (1872-?), Concetta (1874-?), Concetta (1877-1953), Michele (1879-?), Paolo (1882-?) and Generosa Rocca (1887-?).
