Carmela was born about 1807 in Bugnara, L'Aquila, Italy, the daughter of Lonardo DiTomaso and Clorinda Clemente.
Her husband was Felice DiFiore. They were married, but the date and place have not been found. Their six known children were Maria (1835-?), Panfilo (1839-1840), Paolantonia (1841-?), Cattarina (1844-?), Maddalena (1846-?) and Pasquale (1849-?).
