Clemente was born about 1787 in San Benedetto in Perillis, the son of Lorenzo Colella and Cecilia Fontana.

His wife was Rosa Santa_ Seri, who he married on 31 AUG 1817 in Castello, Fagnano Alto, L'Aquila, Italy. Their only known child was Maria (c1818-1892).
