Carmela was born about 1805 in Bugnara, L'Aquila, Italy, the daughter of Giuseppe DiFiore and Carmina Gradasso.
Her husband was Giuseppe Maccarelli. They were married, but the date and place have not been found. Their two known children were Costanzo (1836-1837) and Crescenza (1843-?).
