He died on 15 NOV 1833 in Rushville, Schuyler, Illinois.
His wife was Martha Stanton Judkins. They were married, but the date and place have not been found. Their five known children were Lieut. Rankin (1822-1846), Abigail Rankin (1824-1879), Caleb James (1827-1900), Rebecca Ann (1829-1902) and Sarah Martha (1832-1906).
