Lonardo was born about 1798 in Bugnara, L'Aquila, Italy, the son of Venanzio DiBacco and Mariangelica Frattaroli.
His wife was Irene Volpe. They were married, but the date and place have not been found. Their nine known children were Venanzio (1826-?), Paola Bambina (1829-?), Maria Filippa (1831-?), Vittorino Salvatore (1833-?), Filomena Raffaela (1836-?), Antonio Paolo Martire (1839-?), Mariangela Carmela (1842-?), Vittorino Francesco (1844-?) and Rocco Prospero (1847-?).
