Paolo was born about 1772 in Bugnara, L'Aquila, Italy, the son of unknown parents.
His wife was Metilde Trombetta. They were married, but the date and place have not been found. Their five known children were Giovanni Vincenzo (c1796-?), Vincenzo (c1797-?), Carmina Antonia (c1798-?), Cesidio (c1800-?) and Lonardo Andrea (1809-1810).
